Should I rest or be active after an adjustment

Actually, it's best that you stay active after your adjustment.

Try to stay active after an adjustment. With chiropractic care, we are creating more movement, enhancing mobility and putting motion back into stuck segments of the spine.

We want you to enjoy this extra movement by going for walks, hikes, bicycle rides, or whatever else you enjoy doing. After working on someone’s low back, Dr. Lloyd will often tell his patients to walk around the parking lot before getting into their cars. Being engaged in physical activity helps your body assimilate the extra mobility that it enjoys when being adjusted.

If you are working on a specific issue in your body, you may also need to do some muscle strengthening exercises to provide more strength and stability to the area. The key to rehabbing parts of the body is to keep areas simultaneously mobile and strong. Staying active after your adjustments and during the week is the key to doing this.

The next time you and your family come in for your adjustments, remember to take the time to put some activity in your day. It will do a lot for you.
